Sono così arrabbiata che non so come scriverò questo post… questa mattina ho ricevuto un’email dalla mia carissima amica Dany, super entusiasta per aver ricevuto notifica di vittoria per la dv-lottery (lotteria per vincere la Green Card) e scettica sul fatto di dover pagare $880 per completare la richiesta: SI TRATTA DI UNA TRUFFA!!!
Partecipare alla lotteria è GRATUITO ed è vero che una volta estratti si dovranno spendere soldi per le varie visite mediche – da fare esclusivamente in ambasciata! – e per altre spese burocratiche: tutti costi che verranno affrontati solo dopo che siate stati giudicati idonei alla Green Card.
Essere estratti è solo la prima parte dell’iter e non costa nulla!!!
Lo stesso sito ufficiale mette in guardia sulla possibilità di frode: se qualcuno vi comunica la vittoria via email, si tratta di una truffa.
Al momento della registrazione alla lotteria, vi viene dato un codice. Per sapere se siete tra i fortunati vincitori dovrete inserire tale codice a maggio, una volta che le estrazioni vengono effettuate. Solo voi potrete verificare se siete stati estratti.

A parte gli errori di grammatica, è vero che una volta completati tutti i passaggi esistono dei costi per le pratiche ma questo avviene solo dopo tutti i vari accertamenti!!!
Mio marito Luca è tra i fortunati vincitori della Green Card attraverso la lotteria.
Qual è il vero iter dopo aver vinto la Green Card?
A seguito delle estrazioni di maggio, entrando sul sito https://dvprogram.state.gov e inserendo il codice che vi era stato dato al momento dell’iscrizione potrete subito verificare vostro status.
Essere stati sorteggiati vuol dire essere stati selezionati come POSSIBILI vincitori della Green Card.
A quel punto si devono seguire le istruzioni del Governo Americano e compilare una serie di documenti (di nascita, studi completati, casellario giudiziale etc…). Approvato questo primo screening – GRATUITO – Luca aveva ricevuto un appuntamento al consolato americano a Napoli.
Al consolato era stato sottoposto ad una visita medica ufficiale e solo a quel punto aveva presentato la ricevuta di un versamento fatto in banca a nome dell‘USCIS, US Citizenship and Immigration Service con l’ammontare della cifra esatta di tutti i costi burocratici e medici.
–> piccola nota: Luca si era fatto fare l’esame del sangue in ospedale prima di partire per Napoli e aveva portato con sé i risultati perché pensava che in quel modo avrebbe accelerato i tempi di attesa, invece per legge non accettano altro esame medico se non quello fatto all’interno del consolato. Nessuna eccezione… gli era toccato fare le analisi due volte 😉
Lo scorso luglio, Luca è diventato cittadino, a seguito della sua domanda fatta dopo 5 anni di Green Card in cui ha dimostrato di aver vissuto e lavorato a NY.
È sempre triste vedere come ci siano persone pronte ad approfittarsi di chi vorrebbe solo inseguire i propri sogni.
Comunque, per concludere bene: siamo noi gli artefici dei nostri sogni!!!
Io volevo con tutta me stessa trovare un modo per rimanere qui e ce l’ho fatta. Prima ho fatto avanti e indietro qualche volta (che vi sconsiglio assolutamente!), poi ho chiesto un visto B1/B2 come turista valido per 6 mesi e da NYC sono riuscita a farmi sponsorizzare un O1 da un produttore teatrale e no, non avevo alcuna raccomandazione. Insomma: volere è potere!

Quando Luca aveva vinto la Green Card (nel 2004) ancora il governo inviava delle lettere via posta, oggi le cose sono cambiate.
In realtà, cliccando sul sito ufficiale (https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ ) e cliccando “continue” dovresti essere in grado di inserire il codice a te associato, e se sei tra i vincitori dovrebbe comparirti la lettera con tutte le informazioni necessarie su come procedere e dovresti poi ricevere una notifica via email. Con quella notifica dovresti essere in grado, sullo stesso sito ufficiale, di ricevere maggiori informazioni sull’intervista.
Per mtivi di sicurezza questo è tutto quello che viene detto nel sito del governo (per evitare che la gente venga truffata, visto che di frodi ce ne sono già abbastanza).

Ciao a tutti! Scusate, è la prima volta che scrivo ma mi sembra un’ottima fonte di informazioni e consigli..ed è proprio quello di cui ho bisogno! Ho controllato sul sito e sono tra i “randomly extracted” per la green card, ma non ho ben capito se devo comunque aspettare la lettera di notifica dagli USA o se invece devo iniziare a raccogliere tutti i documenti (moduli e certificati vari) e spedirli subito in Kentucky…oppure vanno presentati solo all’intervista in Consolato? Sono di Rimini e sto studiando da commercialista all’University of Texas at Arlington e sto per cominciare il quinto anno. Quest’anno ho partecipato alla DV 2012 immettendo i dati da solo. Sono inoltre andato alla FedEX a fare la foto (me la hanno addirittura ridimensionata loro secondo le regole della lotteria).
Per favore, non autorizzate nessuno ad immettere i vostri dati nella lotteria! Ho commesso anche io lo stesso errore con la DV 2008 e li ho anche autorizzati a continuare per 3 ulteriori anni. Il fatto e’ che si puo’ comunque chiamare la ditta per disdire il contratto in modo da poter compilare la domanda da solo. Ma il vero problema e’ che delle persone che non sai chi sono hanno i tuoi dati personali e li possono utilizzare per continuare ad immettere la domanda per tuo conto anche se non li stai pagando.
Una delle regole della lotteria e’ che se una domanda viene introdotta piu’ di una volta, a prescindere da chi e da dove e’ stata introdotta, il partecipante viene disqualificato automaticamente.
Pensateci e leggete bene tutte le istruzioni prima di commettere tale errore!

Cara Valentina, purtroppo a maggio verranno estratti quelli iscritti ad ottobre.
L’iscrizione è possibile effettuarla una sola volta all’anno ed è solitamente in ottobre, i risultati di tale lotteria si sanno poi nel maggio successivo. Quindi per l’estrazione di maggio bisogna iscriversi ad ottobre. Occorrerà quindi attendere per quello prossimo, io inizierei a controllare, quando è il periodo, già da settembre, per essere informato e non rischiare di arrivare in ritardo.

L’iscrizione alla lotteria è assolutamente gratuita.
Ci sono agenzie che chiedono soldi per effettuare l’iscrizione al posto tuo, ma con un po’ di pazienza è molto semplice effettuarla per conto proprio.
Da quest’anno non invieranno più la lettera a casa con la notifica ma ciascuno dovrà controllare sul sito governativo l’eventuale estrazione che si terrà a maggio, naturalmente muniti del proprio numero identificativo che dovreste avere ricevuto al momento dell’iscrizione. A proposito, il periodo per l’iscrizione all’estrazione di maggio 2011 è stato ottobre 2010. Chi volesse iscriversi a quella di maggio 2012 dovrà farlo nel mese di ottobre 2011, sempre dal sito governativo. http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/
Notare il .gov alla fine dell’indirizzo. È garanzia che si tratta di un sito governativo. Se finisce per .com allora non lo è.
